#005 Slick Pivot Sessions: Yasmine Say - From Graphic Designer to Personal Trainer

Liz Ward speaks to Yasmine Say, owner of Say Fitness Personal Training. Yasmine shares her story of how she pivoted from a 10 year long career in Design, Brand and Marketing to follow her love of fitness to retrain, qualify and build a business as a Personal Trainer.

In this Slick Pivot Session, we cover:

  • Not knowing what is around the corner

  • Imposter syndrome

  • Doing all the right things in a job hunt, yet feeling like you are getting nowhere

  • Feeling too old to pivot and pushing through that fear

  • Getting buy in from your loved ones on your career change

  • Swallowing your pride and starting from the bottom

  • Why you should never build your bridges. “Your network is so important”

  • Working out your superpowers you might not know you have

Yasmine Say is a Level 3 Personal Trainer based in West London. Her specialisms lie in Mat Pilates, Mobility and Functional Training. Before becoming a Personal Trainer, she spent 10 years working in Design, Brand and Marketing, including roles at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and as a Lecturer at a University in Southern California.

On her return to the UK she realised she wanted more than a desk job. Fitness had always been a huge part of her life and so she decided to follow her passion and embark on a new adventure. Combining her talents in teaching and branding, together with her love of fitness, she trained to qualify as a Personal Trainer. Yasmine has been running her successful PT business of 5 years — Say Fitness Personal Training — in the heart of Chiswick, where she provides her West London clientele with personalised strategies to help harmonise their busy lives and fitness goals. Her mission as a Personal Trainer is to help empower people to lead more adventurous, joyful and fulfilling lives.
